Welcome to Anthracite Region Center for Independent Living

The Mission of the Anthracite Region Center for Independent Living is to enable individuals with disabilities to attain their highest possible level of independence.

Since 1990, the Anthracite Region Center for Independent Living Ltd. (ARCIL) has been a community based, consumer controlled nonprofit corporation. ARCIL serves all types and ages of people with disabilities in Bradford, Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Montour, Northumberland, Schuylkill, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Wayne and Wyoming Counties.

DISABILITY ACTION CREWS (DAC) SUMMERR PICNIC

ARCIL conducts monthly support and informational meetings in several counties. Known as DISABILITY ACTION CREWS (DAC) these groups focus on the empowerment of the individual through self-advocacy and group advocacy. Meetings are held in Lehighton, Pottsville, and Hazleton on a regular basis and are open to anyone with a disability and their friends/family.

ARCIL also holds occasional “KNOWLEDGE IS POWER” seminars on topics of interest to individuals with disabilities. These seminars are generally held in Hazleton and Frackville.  Registration is required.
